The picture on the wall shows that this building was part of Hotel Jenson built around 1902. It has since been updated! This is a local tavern with attached living quarters all for the price of each! There are 3 part time bartenders who would like to stay on and a loyal customer base that say they stay with the business.
The 26x28 bar area is served by a 36' horseshoe bar. The game room with pool table is 19x34. The walk-in cooler is 7x9, the small kitchen is 9x9 and the storeroom is 9x10. Currently only pizza is offered but it should be easy to expand into frozen food and sandwiches. The seating capacity is 50. There are separate air conditioning units for the bar area and living quarters. There are 2 sets of horseshoe pits used by a horseshoe league. Expand into pool and dart tournaments and leagues. Located on the border of Jackson and Wood counties it is on ATV maps and on a snowmobile trail. The current hours of operation are Monday 3pm - 7pm, closed Tuesday and Wednesday - Sunday 11am - Close. The owner of 16 years wishes to sell and move to Florida to be closer to her aging mother and family. Both the 2 bedroom 1 bath living quarters and the bar have wood heat and are on a crawl space. There are tobacco and liquor licenses. M&R owns the machines and pool table with a 50/50 split. The metal roof is new but there are still maintenance items that should be attended to. This is a no frills affordable operation but if you are looking for a business with great community and customer support here it is!
