Chippewa County is accepting applications for 2 full-time, second shift positions within the Department of Administration – Facilities and Parks Division. The two positions are a Custodian and a Custodian/Maintenance Assistant. The job duties of the Custodian and the Custodian/Maintenance Assistant could include but are not limited to performing general building custodial duties, grounds upkeep, perform dock duties, move furniture, and assist with maintenance tasks. The primary work location is the Government Center Campus, with secondary work locations consisting of the Firearms Range, County Parks, and Tower Sites or as assigned. The Custodian/Maintenance Assistant position would require more of the maintenance experience. The schedule for this position is primarily Monday – Friday, 4:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
We are also looking for one person to act as a 2nd shift lead. The lead responsibilities include but are not limited to maintain custodial supply inventories, plan and coordinate custodial staff work assignments, notify Custodial Manager of staffing issues, assist with employee’s annual performance reviews, etc.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Two (2) years of custodial and maintenance experience required for the Custodial/Maintenance Assistant. Custodial or maintenance experience preferred for the Custodian position. A valid driver’s license and cell phone required. Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include overtime and weekend work, to meet the demands of the job. Custodian Wage: $14.23 - $15.66 per hour depending on qualifications
Custodian/Maintenance Assistant Wage: $14.95 - $16.44 per hour depending on qualifications Plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Position may be eligible for an annual pay increase. Lead position will be compensation an additional $1.00 per hour.
Benefits: Security Health Plan provider options include a high deductible plan ($2,000 for an individual and $4,000 for a family) with $0 premiums. The low deductible plan’s ($500 for an individual and $1,500 for a family) monthly premiums range from $70 per month to $178 for a family. Eligible employees will be enrolled in the Wisconsin Retirement System state pension program. Dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending, accident and disability insurance offered. Generous PTO program of 6.16 hours of PTO earned per pay period (26 pay periods in a year).
