condition: fair
This is a fold away sink, these were used on ocean liners, ships and railways in the 19th century.

This particular one is from the H.M.S Sir John Moore, launched May 31, 1915, this ship was decommissioned and sold for scrap in 1921. Ink printing on the back of sink exhibits it's markings. The HMS Sir John Moore was a First World Royal Navy Lord Clive-class monitor named after the British General who was killed in action during the Battle Of Corunna.

After some investigating this is what I have found:

The cabinet possibly is made in mahogany, the fittings are in brass and the original sink and its tray are made in steel
The sink lies flat when the front fall is opened, it has a pouring lip which emptied the waste when it is returned to the closed position, and there is provision for 5 tooth mugs in the top shelf.

Beneath there is a cupboard which once would have held a pail to collect the waste
The cabinet and sink are all there, even the old soap bar and would need restoring.
The cabinet is 51” high, 31” wide and 8” deep. FCFS, Address will be given out to serious buyers per phone call, I will supply my number on your inquiry.
